January Empties

There’s something so satisfying about using stuff up! Here’s what I finished off in January…

Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating Powder. I have been using this (for months) and have still not completely topped it off, but I’ve bought a new finishing powder and I’m ready to move on. This retails for $52 and although it is a light powder that gives the skin a subtle “glow,” it didn’t do that much for my skin type. I think I’m too oily and have too much redness to fully appreciate this product. If you have uniform skin and like a very soft illuminating product, I highly recommend this. I bought it in the “nude” shade.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. Love this! Will buy this one again for sure! Again, for my oily skin this works beautifully! This doesn’t agitate my sensitive skin in any way, and doesn’t make me redder! If you are oily or have a tendency to get flaky in the winter this is a must try!

EOS Body Lotion. This has been part of my winter exfoliating regime for the past couple of months. This doesn’t leave you greasy, provides adequate moisture, and is available in several scents. This is also fairly easy to find and is very affordable. Try it if you haven’t already.

YSL Black Opium. OK, I’m so flaky when it comes to perfume. I definitely do not have a trademark fragrance…I very rarely wear the same one two days in a row. I like for my perfume to match how I feel or how I’m dressed, and that’s all over the place. That being said, I like to buy these small guys so if I only use it three times I don’t feel as bad. This one was different though! I used this every day until I used it up and am seriously considering another one – it’s kind of addictive in a good way. I love it!

Skin Better Daily Treatment Face Cream. I bought this at a bougie cosmetics boutique and will have to say it didn’t really move me. It should have for the price though! I had points and didn’t pay full price, but regardless it wasn’t cheap. I personally think there are products that perform just as good at the drug store. BUT – if you like boutique brands, check out the Skin Better Science range.

Pixie Glow Tonic. I’m sure I’m not saying something you haven’t already heard… this is a great toner for the price. I use this every morning, will repurchase, and highly recommend. It’s doesn’t irritate red prone skin types either (or at least mine).

It Cosmetics Brush Bath. This is another LOVE! This works like magic – quick, easy, highly effective, and it smells good! This is definitely a re-purchase, but I want to try the Bare Minerals brush cleaner also… that may be in a future “empties” post.
